Welcome To My New Blog

Welcome to my new blog.  My name is David Byrd and my goal is to engage you in conversations relative to urban servant leadership within both the christian and secular community.  If you are someone who seeks to explore, expand, enhance or evaluate your leadership, this blog is for you.

I plan to post once a week on Tuesdays and don’t intend for this to be a monologue but a dialogue.  I want you to give me your feedback and I will read and reply as I am able.

If you have a leadership topic you want me to cover, please leave a comment below.  I am looking forward to connecting with you.

Welcome to the conversation . . .

  1. Welcome to the Blog-o-sphere!

I look forward to your posts (don’t forget to post a link on Facebook as well…that’s how i often see things i need to read).

A couple of topics i would like to see

    1) When do you say NO to alliances & partnerships

    2) How do you empower your people (volunteer leaders, followers, etc.) to step up and do their part in ministry

i’m sure i can up up with more ideas…but don’t want to monpolize the forum.

    Congrats again!

p.s. On Facebook, there’s a group for Christian Bloggers. Might be a good place to share your updates!

  2. Great Job Brother Byrd!

As you indicated,” this lays the foundational picture to help those with the intent of serving in urban communities across America understand what urban ministry is and isn’t and how to successfully minister to young people in your community.”

Dealing with youth is a complex and multifaceted matter. As you and I have discussed many times before, you have to connect with young people first before you can positively affect their behavior. Strong leadership is required to lead, guide and direct them. I hope this weekly blog provides the knowledge, wisdom and understanding necessary to enable urban ministry leaders to bring about positive changes in our young people and in the communities in which they reside.

I look forward to reading and commenting on your future blogs.

    Continued success!

    Bob S.
